Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane move backed by Manchester United backroom staff
Manchester United backroom staff are eager for manager Erik ten Hag to land Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane, according to The Athletic (Subscription Required) [h/t Manchester Evening News]
The Dutch manager has identified the England international as the top target in the upcoming transfer window. To that end, other members of the management staff have also given their seal of approval for the 29-year-old’s arrival.
Kane is being tipped to leave Spurs, who parted ways with Antonio Conte recently. His current contract with the North London side is set to expire at the end of next season.
United’s recruitment team are keeping Ten Hag up to date on the striker’s statistics. The 29-year-old’s professionalism and attitude are being hailed as well.
The Red Devils feel they have a good chance of acquiring Kane’s services. The forward is yet to win a major title with club or country, even though he has been one of the best players in the world for some time now.
Since the former Ajax head coach’s arrival, the Old Trafford side have looked impressive. We ended our six-year trophy drought by lifting the Carabao Cup earlier this year.
United are also performing well in other competitions. However, goalscoring has been an evident issue at the club. Marcus Rashford has been the only reliable forward for the Red Devils in the current campaign.
In the number nine position, Wout Weghorst and Anthony Martial are Ten Hag’s only options at the moment. The Holland international has featured heavily in the French national’s absence. Unfortunately, he leaves a lot to be desired in front of goal.
