Manchester United ‘keen on signing’ Nice midfielder Khephren Thuram
Khephren Thuram, who plays for Ligue 1 outfit Nice, is attracting interest from several top teams, including Manchester United, according to 90min (ht Manchester Evening News).
The Red Devils are ‘keen on signing’ the 21-year-old from the Les Aiglons. For the ongoing international break, the midfielder was called up to the French national squad by Didier Deschamps.
Apart from the Old Trafford side, Premier League rivals Liverpool and Newcastle United are also eyeing Thuram. European giants Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan are also monitoring the youngster.
The 21-year-old signed for Nice in the summer of 2019 from rivals AS Monaco. After a debut season playing as a back-up, the midfielder has become a regular fixture in the Ligue 1 outfit’s starting lineup.
The French national is a versatile midfielder capable of playing in the number six position or box-to-box role. He has made 39 appearances in all competitions for Les Aiglons in the current campaign, scoring two goals and providing eight assists.
Last summer, United signed Christian Eriksen and Casemiro to reinforce the engine room. The two have become pivotal members of Erik ten hag’s plans at the Old Trafford side this season.
The Denmark and Brazilian internationals have formed an impressive partnership in the middle of the park for the Red Devils. However, in the absence of either player in the midfield, the Manchester-based club have not looked the same.
Fred has deputised admirably on occasions. Ten Hag can also call upon Scott McTominay and Marcel Sabizter, who is on loan at United from Bayern Munich.

We seemingly lack quality in depth in the engine room. Thus, it would be wise of the Red Devils to add fresh blood in the middle of the park. However, it remains to be seen whether Thuram will be the one to rejuvenate our midfield in the coming future.
