Manchester United ‘in touch’ with Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha
Manchester United have been ‘in touch’ with the representatives of Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha ahead of the upcoming transfer window, according to London World (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The Red Devils have been linked with a move for the Ivory Coast international. At the end of the season, the 30-year-old is set to be a free agent with his contract expiring.
For now, Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur are confident about getting a hold of the forward’s signature. However, along with the Old Trafford side, AS Roma have also made contact with the winger.
Having impressed with the Eagles during his first spell, United signed Zaha in the summer of 2013. However, the 30-year-old struggled in Manchester and made his way back to the Selhurst Park side in 2014 and subsequently re-signed for them.
Since then, the Ivorian has found his feet in the Premier League. Over the years, the winger has caught a lot of people’s attention with his displays at the South London club.
At the moment, Palace are 12th in the league table. Currently, they are safe from relegation, but a few bad results could suck them into the fight for survival. Zaha has once again been Patrick Vieira’s team’s talisman, scoring six goals and providing three assists in 21 appearances in all competitions.
Erik ten hag currently has one of the most in-form left-wingers in Marcus Rashford at his disposal. The 25-year-old has led the Red Devils’ attack in the current campaign and has shouldered our burden up front.
The Old Trafford side also have Alejandro Garnacho in their ranks. This season, the 18-year-old has broken into the first team and has put in some clutch performances from the left-hand side of the attack.
