Manchester United set to return to the USA for 2023 pre-season
According to Manchester Evening News, Manchester United are set to return to the United States of America for the 2023 pre-season tour after a five-year hiatus.
It’s been quite a while for a club that usually loves to travel to the North American country for their pre-season tours. The impact of the Coronavirus has put a hold on those plans in the past few summers until this one.
Ahead of this season though, there were clubs like Barcelona, Real Madrid and Juventus who did go to America for their pre-season tours. United however chose to tour Thailand and Australia to prepare for this season.

However, it looks like they are returning to their preferred destination next summer. Although it has not been finalised yet, it is being claimed that it is likely that they do tour the USA as they look to prepare for the next season.
The last time the Red Devils travelled across the Atlantic was back in Jose Mourinho’s final pre-season tour and it was a trip that became famous for all the wrong reasons. The Portuguese manager was not happy with the refereeing on that tour.
It’s not the first time Erik ten Hag is training his time out there though as he travelled with Ajax to Orlando and Florida for a training camp back in January 2019 and should be fairly okay with going there with the Red Devils.
With the United States hosting the 2026 World Cup, they will be more than happy to see more Premier League clubs travelling to their country for pre-season as it would be great promotion for the game ahead of the showpiece event.
The Americans now have a very talented soccer national team that impressed one and all with their performances at the World Cup. A number of their players play for European clubs and all this is added value.
