Manchester United ‘keeping tabs’ on Preston North End striker Felipe Rodriguez-Gentile
Manchester United, along with Premier League rivals Liverpool, are ‘keeping tabs’ on Preston North End striker Felipe Rodriguez-Gentile, according to The Mirror.
A number of other English top-flight clubs are also monitoring the 16-year-old. Manchester City are also following the youngster, while Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United appreciate him as well.
Rodriguez-Gentile is an Argentinian who has dual nationality as he was born in Brazil and also holds a Spanish passport. The 16-year-old signed for the Lilywhites last October.
The forward has already agreed on a two-year scholarship at the Championship side, which will commence in the summer of 2023. He has been brilliant for Preston’s U18 side in the current campaign.
Rodriguez-Gentile turned a lot of heads when he scored five goals in a 6-1 for the Lilywhites against Rotherham United in the FA Youth Cup. The youngster has 18 goals in his last 10 appearances, which include four hat tricks.
The 16-year-old is yet to play for Preston’s senior side. However, the Championship club’s manager has hinted at integrating him into the first team dynamics in the near future.
United have a strong academy as well. The Red Devils’ most well-known prospect over the last few years has been Marcus Rashford. The 25-year-old came up through the academy and has been a pivotal player for us.
