Arsenal and Manchester United ‘interested’ in Brighton & Hove Albion and Argentina midfielder Alexis Mac Allister
Manchester United, alongside Arsenal, are ‘interested’ in signing Brighton & Hove Albion and 2022 World Cup-winning Argentina star Alexis Mac Allister, according to Spanish outlet Fichajes (h/t Manchester Evening News).
Erik ten Hag is looking to bolster the middle of the park at the Old Trafford side. As a result, the 23-year-old has emerged as a target for the Red Devils.
The Premier League table-toppers are also eyeing the midfielder’s signature. Arsenal currently have the likes of Granit Xhaka, Thomas Partey, Martin Odegaard, Mohamed Elneny and Albert Sambi Lakonga at their disposal.
Mac Allister joined the Seagulls in the winter window of 2019 from Boca Juniors. Since then, he has become an important player for the club based in East Sussex.
The 23-year-old is a versatile player capable of playing in multiple positions in the engine room. While in the previous campaign, the Argentine mainly played in the attacking midfield position, he has played as a number six for the majority of this season.
Mac Allister also shined for his national side at the 2022 World Cup. He started in all but one game for Argentina in Qatar. The 23-year-old found the back of the net in the group-stage match against Poland and gave an assist in the final for Angel Di Maria’s goal.

United’s midfield currently consists of the likes of Casemiro, Christian Eriksen and Bruno Fernandes. The trio have cemented their places in Ten Hag’s starting lineup.
However, our bench strength leaves a lot to be desired. Fred and Scott McTominay have not been consistent during their time at the club, while Donny van de Beek has hardly had an impact since signing from Ajax.
