Manchester United value PSV Eindhoven and the Netherlands star Cody Gakpo at under £45 million, while the Dutch club want around £50 million for the forward, according to CBS Sports’ Ben Jacobs on Twitter.

The Eredivisie outfits director of football, Marcel Brands, had previously stated that “only 10–12 clubs can afford” the Holland international. The Red and Whites have added £8 million to the youngster’s price tag after his performances at the 2022 World Cup.

Thus, there is a difference in the price tag between United and PSV for Gakpo. However, the Red Devils are yet to make an official for the 23-year-old.

The Holland international has been in fine form for the Eredivisie outfit since last season. However, the forward has taken his game up a notch in the current campaign.

Gakpo has made 24 appearances in all competitions for the Red and Whites this term. The forward has found the back of the net 13 times and has provided 17 assists.

The 23-year-old also shined in Qatar for the Netherlands. He scored in every group stage fixture for the Oranje. However, Louis van Gaal’s team could not make it out of the quarter-finals against eventual winner Argentina.

United’s forward line has lost a player midway through the campaign after the untimely departure of Cristiano Ronaldo. As a result, Erik ten Hag now has just one number nine in the squad—Anthony Martial.

Unfortunately, the France international has had his fitness issues this season, missing most of our fixtures. Thus, Marcus Rashford has led the Red Devils’ attacking line on a number of occasions under the Dutch manager.

However, the Old Trafford side should evidently bolster the forward line after the five-time Ballon d’Or winner’s exit. However, it will be interesting to see whether the club are able to strike a deal with PSV for Gakpo next month.
