Erik ten Hag unsure whether Manchester United star Christian Eriksen will feature against Tottenham Hotspur
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is unsure whether Christian Eriksen will feature against Tottenham Hotspur on 19 October. The Red Devils take on Spurs at Old Trafford next in the Premier League.
The Denmark international missed Man United’s previous fixture against Newcastle United due to illness. The game ended in a 0-0 draw as the Old Trafford side failed to create a lot of chances.
Speaking to the media via Metro after the game against the Magpies, Ten Hag claimed he was hopeful of Eriksen returning to play against his former club. However, the Dutch manager is not certain about the 30-year-old being involved.

“I can’t tell [if he will face Spurs]. I know you’re from Denmark, and want to know, and I want to express he’s played fantastic, at this moment, for us.
“In our team, he really contributes to what we are at this moment. I don’t know if he will be available for Wednesday but I hope [so], of course.”
The ex-Tottenham star spent six-and-a-half years in North London before moving to Inter Milan. The 30-year-old was one of the best attacking midfielders during his time with Spurs.
Eriksen has been an important member of Ten Hag’s starting lineup. The Danish national has started a majority of the game under the Dutch manager this season.
The 30-year-old signed for Man United on a free transfer in the summer of 2022. Since then, the midfielder has exceeded fans’ expectations with respect to the impact he has had in the team.
It took a couple of games for Eriksento to find his feet in the Old Trafford side’s squad. Ten Hag played the Danish national as a centre-forward in the first game and as a pivot in his second appearance.
However, after the Dutch manager lost the two opening fixtures against Brighton & Hove Albion and Brentford, Man United made some changes. Eriksen started to play in the number eight role.
