Alan Shearer seems to take a dig at Jadon Sancho during Manchester United vs Newcastle United

Newcastle United icon Alan Shearer seems to have taken a dig at Jadon Sancho as the Magpies took on Manchester United. Eddie Howe’s team visited Old Trafford on 16 October to take on the Red Devils in the Premier League.

The game ended in a 0-0 draw as Man United and Newcastle failed to create a lot of opportunities. However, there were a few contentious decisions as Craig Pawson took charge of the fixture. Jarred Gillet was the Video assistant referee.

In the 58th minute of the game, Sancho went down in the opposition’s penalty area. Sean Longstaff was the one who challenged the England international. However, neither the referee nor the VAR deemed it a spot kick.

A few minutes earlier, Cristiano Ronaldo had also gone down in the Magpies’ box. The Portuguese was tripped and knocked off balance by Kieran Trippier as a ball was played through on goal.

Seemingly reacting to the incidents, Shearer shared a disgruntled message on Twitter (h/t Mirror). The all-time record goalscorer in the PL was not happy about the apparent theatrics from the likes of Sancho against his former club.

Man United fans would argue that there was clear contact on both Ronaldo and Sancho. And supporters feel the Red Devils should have had penalties for the incidents.

“Keep on f****** diving you might get one eventually!!!”

The Portuguese did find the back of the net against Howe’s team. However, both of them were ruled offside. Fans thought we were hard done by when Ronaldo took the ball from Nick Pope and scored after he thought a free kick had been played.

Sancho looked lively in the opening minutes against Newcastle. The 22-year-old started the game alongside the five-time Ballon d’Or winner and Antony up front. However, the Red Devils failed to create much in the first half.
