Opponent Watch: Richarlison ruled out for Tottenham Hotspur against Manchester United

In what will come as good news for Manchester United fans, Tottenham Hotspur forward Richarlison is set to miss the game against them this Wednesday. (h/t Manchester Evening News)

The Brazilian suffered a calf injury in his side’s 2-0 win over Everton on Saturday. He was seen leaving the stadium on crutches and is expected to be sidelined for a few weeks.

Spurs manager, Antonio Conte also confirmed that the forward will miss the game this Wednesday, in his post-match interview.

“Yeah for sure he’s out against Manchester United.”

Richarlison has been in good form for Antonio Conte’s side since he made the move there this summer. The Brazilian international has featured 13 times for them in all competitions and has scored two goals in the process.

While the 25-year-old’s absence is good news for Erik ten Hag, he cannot take Spurs lightly. Harry Kane and Heung-min Son have been in excellent form for the north London side and they will be a threat against United too.

Ten Hag would have hoped for all three points against Newcastle United today at home. While the Red Devils were the better team, they failed to convert some easy chances that would have given them the lead.

Spurs sit third on the table with 23 points, seven more than United and have also played a game more than us. A win on Wednesday will help Ten Hag’s side cut the gap to Chelsea on fourth with 19 points and fans will hope for the same.
