Alan Shearer believes Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has reached his limits with Jadon Sancho
Former England forward Alan Shearer asserts that Manchester United Manager Erik ten Hag has already given too many chances to United Forward Jadon Sancho.
Ten Hag dropped Sancho from the match-day squad against Arsenal, citing the 20-year-old’s poor performance in training. The Dutchman criticized the English forward after the 3-1 defeat at the hands of their rival.
Sancho responded to his manager’s comment through a now-deleted social media post on platform X, stating that he is being used as a “scapegoat”.

Following the public outburst, Ten Hag banished Sancho from first-team training as the English forward refused to apologize, claiming that Ten Hag has double standards in dealing with players.
Shearer spoke to The Rest is Football podcast (h/t Manchester Evening News) to give his take on the matter. He suggested that Sancho’s outburst might be the final straw under Ten Hag’s management.
“He (Sancho) must have been on his final call and his final chance. You [always] hear different rumors about players being late, not turning up for training, and missing a team bus. That in itself is unacceptable. How many times has it happened? We’re not sure, but for him to come out and publicly say about Jadon Sancho, there must have been several things that have gone on in the dressing room.”
The Red Devils’ fanbase and football pundits remain divided over this controversial matter as Sancho’s future at United remains uncertain.
Daily Mail previously reported that Ten Hag shared personal details about Sancho’s mental health without permission. This public controversy is unhelpful for the club.

United’s season has had a nightmare start, losing three games in five Premier League matches. Fans hope that the off-field drama can subside, allowing the focus to shift back to football.
