Manchester United are linked with a shock move for Bayern Munich star Serge Gnabry
Spanish outlet Fichajes (h/t Manchester Evening News) reported that Manchester United plan to make an ambitious bid for Bayern Munich star Serge Gnabry. According to the Spanish outlet, Bayern would be willing to let their star leave for around 60 million euros.
The 28-year-old has made 222 appearances for Bayern, contributing to 81 goals and 51 assists for the club. Gnabry emerged from the Arsenal academy but only managed to appear in 18 matches for the London club.
His challenging experience in England might give him extra incentive to prove his worth if he decides to return.
The German international earned recognition for his intelligence and his off-the-ball movement and creativity are second to none. Gnabry is athletically well-built with pace and power while being comfortable with both feet.
Additionally, he is a hard worker who helps his teammates by tracking back when they’re not in possession.
The English giants are struggling with form having lost three games out of five games they’ve played so far in the Premier League. If United fail to change their situation from within the club, they would need to use the transfer window.
Gnabry is currently in his peak years and could seamlessly fit into United’s right-wing position if the deal materializes.
The transfer market experiences significant inflation, and it’s a rarity to find players of Gnabry’s calibre valued at approximately 60 million euros. United manager Erik ten Hag recently complained that player prices tend to inflate whenever United become involved.
