“I’m very happy”- Manchester United star praises Hannibal Mejbri after Brighton defeat

Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen praises “hard-working” Hannibal Mejbri amidst defeat

Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen talked to MUTV (h/t Manchester Evening News) about Hannibal Mejbri’s first senior team goal at the club.

Hannibal scored the consolation goal as United lost 1-3 at home to Brighton & Hove Albion The 20-year-old substituted Casemiro in the 64th minute when the scoreline was 0-2.

In contrast, Eriksen played the full game but struggled to make a significant impact.

Despite the result, Eriksen believed that Hannibal deserved his moment in the spotlight for his hard work. Speaking to MUTV (Manchester Evening News), Eriksen elaborated:

“I’m very happy for him [Hannibal], he’s a very good guy and he works very hard. As you see on the pitch, he’s a loud guy, but he deserved it. Like you said, he’s unlucky to get the goal in a loss. I know if he scored today and we had won, it would have been a completely different feeling for him and everyone else.

Hannibal scored in the 71st minute when United were already three goals down. He hit a beautifully precise shot from outside Brighton’s box, leaving the keeper no chance to save.

Hannibal shared the bittersweet moment with his fans through social media, expressing disappointment in the team’s loss.

The Red Devils have lost three games in five Premier League matches. They now face Bayern Munich in the Champions League opening fixture.

United fans hope to see more moments of magic from Hannibal, with a different outcome in the game. We inspiration from within until the transfer market opens before we can go out find solutions.
