Tottenham Hotspur have an eye on Chelsea star and Manchester United target Hakim Ziyech

Manchester United target and Chelsea star Hakim Ziyech is seemingly being considered by Tottenham Hotspur this transfer window, according to Algemeen Dagblad (h/t Express).

The Moroccan is also on the Red Devils’ wish-list as United evidently try to bolster their attacking options. Spurs want to discuss the possibility of signing the 29-year-old. Apart from the North London side, Ajax are also interested in their former star.

Ziyech has struggled for game time at the Stamford Bridge club. Since arriving from the Eredivisie to Chelsea in the summer of 2019, the 29-year-old has failed to cement his place in the Blues’ XI.

The Moroccan is a versatile player capable of playing in various positions. At Chelsea last season, Ziyech mostly played as a number 10 and on the right-wing. He started just 14 games for Chelsea in the previous campaign.

United need reinforcements

United are looking at various targets for the forward line. Erik ten Hag has previously managed Ziyech at Ajax. The Moroccan had a fruitful spell under the Dutch manager in Amsterdam.

The Manchester-based club struggled to score goals and create chances last season. In the 2021/22 campaign, Cristiano Ronaldo finished as our top goalscorer. However, the rest of the attackers were unable to make an impact. And the Portugal international’s future is uncertain.

Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho didn’t cover themselves in glory last season. The English duo failed to live up to fans’ expectations.

The new campaign got off to an abysmal start. The whole team struggled. United players were unable to get on the scoresheet in the first two games.

Ziyech is a quality player capable of bringing creativity to a side. The Red Devils could do with a player of the Moroccan’s ilk. It remains to be seen where the 29-year-old’s future lies this summer.
