Allan Saint-Maximin being thought of to improve Manchester United squad this transfer window

Manchester United are ‘thinking about’ bringing Allan Saint-Maximin to Old Trafford from Newcastle United this transfer window, according to French outlet MediaFoot (h/t Express).

The Red Devils are seemingly looking to reinforce the team before the end of the transfer window. And United are thinking about ‘gambling’ on the France national to improve the squad.

A move for the Magpies forward has not been ruled out this summer. Saint-Maximin’s ‘explosive profile’ is admired by United.

Saint-Maximin brings flair to Newcastle

The 25-year-old made his way to Newcastle in 2019. The Frenchman’s trickery and skills immediately made him one to look out for. In the previous campaign, the former OGC Nice star featured in 37 games for the Toons, scoring five goals and providing five assists.

The France U21 international has started the new season on an impressive note. The 25-year-old has started all three games in the 2022/23 campaign for Eddie Howe’s XI.

Saint-Maximin provides a threat for Newcastle. His performances this season have turned a lot of people’s heads. The 25-year-old’s display against Premier League champions Manchester City was great as he managed two assists in a 3-3 draw at St. James’ Park.

United’s attacking lineup lacked flair in the previous campaign. Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho were unable to live up to fans’ expectations. The English duo’s lacklustre displays hampered the team.

The new season started off on the wrong foot. Erik ten Hag lost the first two games against Brighton & Hove Albion and Brentford. However, we turned up against Liverpool. Rashford and Sancho scored a goal each as we won 2-1.

More Manchester United New

It remains to be seen whether United can continue their form on the back of the win against the Merseysiders. We have shown signs of sluggishness. It’d be wise to bring in someone with the skill-set and creativity of Saint-Maximin to back up our front line.
