Manchester United to battle AC Milan for the signing of Chelsea and Morocco star Hakim Ziyech
Manchester United are set to battle it out with AC Milan for the signature of Chelsea and Morocco star Hakim Ziyech, according to Calcio Mercato (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The Red Devils are leading the race at the moment for the 29-year-old. He is expected to leave the Blues in the coming transfer window and Erik ten Hag’s team have enquired about the availability of the former Ajax star. The playmaker could be available for a low fee.
However, AC Milan are also interested in signing Ziyech. The Serie A giants expect a tough fight from the Old Trafford side in their pursuit of the Moroccan.

Having finally won the Scudetto in the previous campaign after an 11-year wait, the Rossoneri have had a more challenging fight in the Italian top-flight this season. Napoli are eight points ahead of them in the table at the moment.
Milan’s creativity in the middle of the park is currently on the shoulders of Brahim Diaz. However, the 23-year-old is on loan at the Italian outfit from Real Madrid. Their forward line consists of the likes of Olivier Giroud, Rafael Leao, Alexis Saelemaekers, Ante Rebic and Charles De Ketelaere.
Ziyech has been underwhelming in England since his move to Chelsea in 2020. The Moroccan has failed to replicate the qualities he had shown in the Eredivisie for the Blues.

However, the playmaker is having a decent World Cup with the Atlas Lions. Morocco beat Belgium 2-0 in their second fixture of Group F. The 29-year-old bagged an assist in the game.
Ziyech is a versatile attacking player capable of playing out wide and in the number 10 role. However, Bruno Fernandes has cemented his place in the position behind the strike at United. The Red Devils also signed Antony, who has been the Dutch manager’s first choice at right wing.
