Bayern Munich send Barcelona midfielder and Manchester United target Frenkie de Jong season-long loan offer
Barcelona midfielder and Manchester United target Frenkie de Jong has received the opportunity to move to Bayern Munich on a season-long loan this transfer window, according to Jijantes via Sport (h/t Express).
The Red Devils have seemingly been after the Dutch midfielder all summer. United want to make one last push for the 25-year-old. However, other teams like Chelsea are also in the race for De Jong.
Now, the Manchester-based club have to contend with the German giants as well for the Holland international. Bayern had previously taken Phillipe Coutinho on loan in 2019. The Bundesliga outfit are looking to repeat the same trick with De Jong.

United have made three signings this summer. Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen and Lisandro Martinez have been added to Erik ten Hag’s squad. The Red Devils are also set to officially announce Casemiro’s transfer from Real Madrid to the Manchester-based club.
The departures this summer from United included the likes of Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic. The two players leaving have left the squad depleted in the number 6 and number 8 positions.
Fred and Scott McTominay started the Red Devils’ first game of the 2022/23 campaign. However, fans don’t feel the two have the quality to start week in, week out for United.

Ten Hag has also featured Eriksen in the pivot position. However, the Denmark international has played most of his career as an attacking midfielder.
United seemingly still need a quality box-to-box midfielder. Bruno Fernandes and Eriksen are more attack-minded. Pogba brought flair to the middle of the park, which is missing at the moment.
