Moises Caicedo feels ready but Manchester United are yet to make an approach for his services
According to Jonathan Shrager via The United Stand on Twitter (h/t Manchester Evening News), Manchester United are yet to make an approach for Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo.
United were linked with the Ecuadorian 18 months back. But the 20-year-old ended up in Graham Potter’s side, where he has slowly made a name for himself.
The Red Devils are seemingly keeping an eye on him. However, United haven’t held talks for Caicedo yet. The 20-year-old’s entourage supposedly feels he’s physically ready to take the next.
The Manchester-based club have lost the first two games of the 2022/23 season. The first fixture of the new campaign saw Brighton visit Old Trafford. The Seagulls beat United 2-1.
Caicedo was one of the standout players in the game. The Red Devils struggled to gain control of the middle of the park. The Ecuadorian was key for Potter, radiating energy and tenacity in the engine room.
On the other hand, United’s midfield looked out of ideas. Fred and Scott McTominay were unable to control the tempo of the game. The two struggled to keep hold of the ball and made a few errors.
Supporters have been crying out for midfield reinforcements for some time now. Fred and McTominay have been regulars in the double pivot role. However, fans aren’t convinced about the duo’s qualities.
Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic’s departure has left the squad short on a number eight and a number six. Caicedo is someone who’s been deployed in both positions by the Brighton manager.
