Chelsea open to letting Christian Pulisic leave on loan with Manchester United interested
Manchester United are interested in taking Chelsea forward Christian Pulisic on loan this summer, according to The Athletic (Subscription Required). The Blues are open to letting the USMNT star leave.
Pulisic has struggled for game time in London. The 23-year-old has found himself mostly on the bench, with Thomas Tuchel preferring other options ahead of the American.
This has led to Pulisic growing ‘frustrated’. The Stamford Bridge side acknowledge the situation. Thus, Chelsea are seemingly okay with the player joining another club for the time being.
With the World Cup in Qatar around the corner, the USMNT captain is looking to get more opportunities to start in games. That prospect seems to be unlikely in London.
Therefore, clubs like Newcastle United, Juventus and Atletico Madrid are attentive to the 23-year-old’s case. However, the player would prefer a move to United this summer if the opportunity arises.
The Red Devils are evidently in need of reinforcements up front. The forward line is depleted and Erik ten Hag lacks experienced alternatives. The future of certain stars remains uncertain as well in Manchester.
Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Anthony Martial had a brilliant pre-season under their belt. However, the 2022/23 campaign has revealed the same cracks that were present last season.
The English duo started both of our first games against Brighton & Hove Albion and Brentford but failed to make a mark. On the other hand, our French forward was on the sidelines. Cristiano Ronaldo started the game against the Bees, but the Old Trafford side lost 4-0.
