Chelsea hold Christian Pulisic advantage in Manchester United target Victor Osimhen race
Premier League rivals Chelsea hold an advantage over Manchester United in the race for Victor Osimhen due to Christian Pulisic, according to the Daily Mail (h/t Manchester Evening News).
Both the Blues and the Red Devils have an eye on the Napoli striker. The Old Trafford side have the Nigeria international on their list as an alternative target to bolster the forward line.
However, the Partenopei are interested in the Stamford Bridge side’s USMNT star. As a result, the West London-based club have a chance to set up a swap deal between the American winger and the 24-year-old with the Serie A giants.
Osimhen has been inspiring for Napoli this season. The Italian outfit have won Serie A after over three decades in the current campaign. Contributing to the Naples-based club’s triumph, the Nigerian has made 35 appearances in all competitions, scoring 28 goals.
On the other hand, Chelsea have struggled in the 2022/23 season. Todd Boehly has made a number of additions to the team over the last two transfer windows. However, even with the attacking talent at the Blues’ disposal, they have been unable to consistently find the back of the net.
Pulisic has been at the Stamford Bridge side since 2019. However, over the years, the American has been unable to cement his place in the West London club’s starting lineup. In the current campaign, the 23-year-old has once again been a bit-part player.
As for United, Erik ten Hag has Anthony Martial and Wout Weghorst as the only two natural strikers in the squad. Unfortunately, both of them have been underwhelming.
The former AS Monaco star has been unreliable this season due to several injury issues. While the Burnley loanee has worked hard since his arrival in January, the striker leaves a lot to be desired up front.

Osimhen is a prolific number nine, which is something we could evidently do with right now. Hopefully, the Red Devils will be able to pip Chelsea to the Nigerian’s signature despite the interest in Pulisic from Napoli.
