Manchester United will face competition from AC Milan and Juventus in their pursuit of Boubacar Kamara

According to Calciomercato.com (h/t Sempremilan), AC Milan and Juventus look set to challenge Manchester United in the race to land Marseille star Boubacar Kamara

Boubacar Kamara has emerged as a top midfielder in the French League in the past couple of years. The 22-year-old had a massive impact on Marseille’s campaign last season and even went on to captain the side.

Having come through the youth ranks at Marseille, it can be said that the youngster is on the right track to making it big. However, it remains to be seen whether it will be at the Orange Velodrome or elsewhere.

Kamara’s current contact with the French side will expire in June 2022. But it is believed that he will not renew after his current term ends. Amidst such a situation, Manchester United have shown interest in luring the youngster in recent times. But it seems the Red Devils will face competition from Italian giants AC Milan and Juventus. 

Man United interim manager Ralf Rangnick is currently betting on Scott McTominay and Fred to cover the deeper midfield areas. Even though the Brazilian has enjoyed a successful spell under the German manager, McTominay is yet to up his game noticeably.

The defensive midfield position is also one that needs reinforcement at Old Trafford. Nemanja Matic has already passed his peak years and currently doesn’t offer Rangnick a long term solution in the spot. The German manager also hasn’t shown any particular preference for the Serbian, and he could be pushed towards the exit come summer. On the other hand, The future of Paul Pogba and Donny van de Beek is also up in the air.

Amid such a scenario, bringing in midfield reinforcements is a priority next summer. Although Kamara is young, he has shown immaculate maturity in the way he plays and conducts himself on the field. His passing ability and game awareness could become a valuable asset for the Red Devils. But the youngster would need some grooming to adapt to the English League.
