Transfer News: Crystal Palace enter the race for Manchester United target Boubacar Kamara
According to The Sun, Crystal Palace have officially entered the race to sign Manchester United target Boubacar Kamara in the summer transfer window. He is in line to leave Marseille at the end of the season, which has prompted several clubs to keep tabs on his current situation.
Kamara has less than six months left in his current contract with the Ligue 1 club. There have been no signs of him agreeing to an extension so far, which has eventually attracted interest from elsewhere. The youngster could legally reach a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs ahead of a potential summer move.
Palace have expressed their interest to secure the Frenchman’s services as a result, with Man United also being in the fray. The latter was linked with a transfer for the defensive midfielder in January, but a move never came to fruition. Whether the Red Devils will have an easy time landing him in the summer is debatable.
More troubles to overcome
The 22-year-old is one of the future superstars in the making but is also good enough to make an instant impact at this moment. We must get our hands on him at all costs, considering the various issues that need to be solved in the midfield areas. After all, it is clear as daylight how we need additions to the squad to solve the current problems.
Nemanja Matic is past his best and needs to be replaced at the end of this term. Scott McTominay and Fred are not good enough to be pivot options as they are more suited to be utilised as box-to-box midfielders. We are lacking in terms of options, which has often resulted in instability in the middle of the park.
Kamara can certainly solve those problems to an extent as he is suited to play in that position. Moreover, his low cost, even with his high salary demands, makes him a great opportunity not to be passed upon. As such, we must secure his signature before others beat us to add him to their squad.

We must be wary of the Eagles as a result since they are building a strong project under the Arsenal legend, Patrick Vieira. Moreover, Newcastle United and West Ham United have been engaged in talks with Kamara making it even more important why we must be on our toes.
It remains to be seen if the board would actively pursue the Marseille star or not in the summer transfer window. We do hope that is the case since the holding midfielder could greatly boost the quality of our declined midfield.
