Barcelona have offered Philippe Coutinho to Manchester United
According to Spanish outlet SPORT (h/t HITC), In an attempt to rejuvenate their financial situation, Catalan giants Barcelona have offered Philippe Coutinho to several clubs, including Manchester United.
The Brazilian’s career at the Nou Camp has been a significant disappointment. Like many other Premier League superstars, he has failed to find his rhythm at the Spanish top flight. In 103 appearances for the Blaugrana, he has only bagged 25 goals and made 14 assists.
Furthermore, his overall impact for Barcelona has been slim. It seems the 29-year-old player doesn’t have the faith of new head manager Xavi as he hasn’t started a game since the club legend’s arrival.
The Barcelona boar for their part remain hugely distressed by the club’s financial position. The previous board’s lack of managerial acumen has pushed the Catalan club to the brink of bankruptcy. It wouldn’t be amiss to suggest that they will need to sell before they can buy more players.
Destination Manchester?
Thus in an attempt to offload the Brazilian star, they have offered him to both Manchester giants – Manchester City and Manchester United. There is also an added interest in him from Newcastle United.

Coutinho has an exceptional Premier League CV from his time at Liverpool. He was one of the best players at Anfield and developed into a world-class player on Merseyside.
If the Brazilian rediscovers his previous form, Coutinho could prove to be an astute buy for the Red Devils. With his technical ability, he can break lines and provide exquisite passes to players like Cristiano Ronaldo and Edinson Cavani.
Whether his history with Liverpool influences Manchester United’s decision to be seen. While he has already stored in the past at Old Trafford, it has been for the wrong team in red. Whether that will be rectified in the years to come is anyone’s guess.
