Marcus Rashford believes Manchester United are yet to hit top gear this season after Tottenham Hotspur display
Speaking to The BBC (h/t Manchester Evening News), Marcus Rashford admitted that there is more to come from Manchester United after their stellar performance against Tottenham Hotspur.
The Red Devils ran the hard yards and ripped apart Spurs on the day as their strike force combined incredibly well and forced the issue. Although their first two goals were the most important on the night, Marcus Rashford was not going to sit on his laurels and came off the bench to join the party.
The Englishman scored his third goal in four games across all competitions, proving how much the club missed him during the start of the season. The 24-year-old was delighted with the result and credited his manager for the spot-on tactics before stating that the best is yet to come.
The centre-forward told BBC (h/t Manchester Evening News):
“It’s obviously been a difficult week it is for any team when you don’t win. “We’ve responded the only way we know how. The staff, the players all want to win…Part of playing for this club is to come out of difficult moments. this club has always bounced back.”
United’s loss to Liverpool is not something that can be forgotten in a hurry. But then, reacting to such a dismal defeat is also key and the Red Devils have now hit back hard.
Rashford credited Solskjaer for his pre-match preparations and admitted that the players have to buy into the Norwegian’s vision. While the win over may have been comfortable, Rashford believes there is more yet to come.
“I THINK [OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER’S] PREPARED FOR THE TEAM WE’RE PLAYING AGAINST. WE ALL HAVE TO BUY INTO WHAT THE MANAGER TELLS US TO DO…THERE’S MORE TO COME [FROM US]. AS LONG AS WE KEEP IMPROVING, KEEP PICKING UP POINTS, WE’LL SEE WHERE WE ARE COME THE END OF THE SEASON.”
As long as United play to their potential, the sky is the limit. They have the players to do the job and all that is now needed is to bring in a system capable of getting the best out of them.
