Manchester United fans react as Cristiano Ronaldo leads club to a 3-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur

In the end, it was only Tottenham Hotspur but a Cristiano Ronaldo led Manchester United put them to the sword in front of their own fans in what was a commanding performance.

The Red Devils went into the game on the back of a humiliating 5-0 loss at home to arch-rivals Liverpool. Ole Gunnar Solskkjaer was under the scanner and he has to his credit, delivered.

United went into the game with both Cristiano Ronaldo and Edinson Cavani in the playing XI. Both players would prove pivotal on the night.

Ronaldo opened the scoring with a well-taken volley that he fired in from a tight angle. He turned provider later in the game, threading through a sensational pass for Cavani to score.

Solskajer eventually decided to take the Portuguese legend off but the damage to Tottenham had already been done. Marcus Rashford grabbed a third late on to complete the rout.

While the performance was far from flawless, United have shown they can bounce back from a demoralizing defeat and get back to winning ways. Given Spurs troubles, we should not beat the drum over the win. A clear picture will present itself in the upcoming games.
