Man City and Liverpool join Manchester United to pursue a transfer for AS Monaco star Aurelien Tchouameni
According to ESPN (h/t The Irish Mirror), Manchester United are not the only English club in the race to secure a transfer for AS Monaco ace Aurelien Tchouameni as Liverpool & Man City have also joined the race now.
The 21-year-old talent has been producing eye-catching performances since his Bordeaux days. Not a prominent goal-scorer but certainly a resolute player in the centre of the pitch, Tchouameni’s skill was on display for the French national team recently as they defeated Spain in the final of the UEFA Nations League.
He has turned heads with his performances at Monaco as well and several clubs are now eyeing a deal for the youngster. Manchester United were said to be the club keen on a move for the Frenchman and have eyed him as a potential replacement for Paul Pogba.
The 28-year-old is yet to make a decision on his future and could move to a new club as a free agent next summer. United would certainly want to fill that void, and Tchouameni could be a possible heir to the throne.
United to face competition for Tchouameni?
However, they are apparently not the only English club vying for the central midfielder’s signature. Man City and Liverpool are also ‘scouting’ him as the former are set to lose Fernandinho at the end of this season while the Reds are yet to add another midfielder after Georginio Wijnaldum left the club earlier this summer.

Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus, and Real Madrid are also linked with the player, who is thought to become available for a fee in the region of £42-50million.
Thus, there is heavy competition for the Monaco man, and United will have to do their best to lure the French international to Old Trafford if he is to bolster their midfield line.
