Early Teams News: Manchester United prepare to take on Aston Villa in the Premier League
The club’s official website has delivered early team news as Manchester United prepare to take on Aston Villa in the Premier League this weekend.
The Red Devils are coming off the back of a shock Carabao Cup loss against West Ham United. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be keen for his players to get back to winning ways.
United have won four of their first five games in the league this season. They are currently joint top of the English top-flight on point alongside Liverpool and Chelsea.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made 11 changes for the tie with the Hammers on Wednesday. It gave the Norwegian a chance to rest some of his biggest games. With games coming thick and fast, the rotation will be key.
Dean Henderson, Alex Telles, Eric Bailly and Juan Mata all made their first starts of the season. While they are now available. it is debatable if they will keep hold of their starting spots.
Bruno Fernandes and Mason Greenwood came off the bench against West Ham, and will almost certainly be brought back into the starting lineup against the Villians.
One player Villa will dread to meet is Cristiano Ronaldo. The 36-year-old has scored nine goals in 14 appearances against the Villians, the most against a single opponent in United colours. He will look to add to that record this weekend.
Edinson Cavani will be assessed to see if he will make the cut for the game. Marcus Rashford and Aamad Diallo are both still sidelined and will miss out once again.

Axel Tuanzebe, who is currently on loan at Villa, is ineligible to face his parent club and will sit out the game. One familiar face in the Villa lineup could be former United star Ashley Young.
Moreover, Leon Bailey is a doubt with a quad issue and could miss the game this weekend. Trezeguet remains sidelined after undergoing knee surgery while Matt Targett’s participation is also in doubt. Dean Smith could however be handed a boost if John McGinn makes the cut.
