Edinson Cavani sends message to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer regarding partnership with Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo
Speaking in an interview, as quoted by ESPN (h/t The Mirror), Manchester United ace Edinson Cavani has sent a message to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, insisting that he and Cristiano Ronaldo can lead the frontline.
The 34-year-old returned slightly late to the United camp in the summer after international duty. He had a few bumps while getting up to match fitness as he suffered a heel issue. The striker made his first league start of the season against Everton at the start of last month.
His first goal came at the end of October against Tottenham Hotspur. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer moved to a back three and opted for a strike partnership of Cavani and Ronaldo. The two veterans brought out the best in each other and sealed a victory on the night.

The Uruguayan has now sent a message to Solskjaer, regarding his partnership with the Portuguese star.
“It’s a pleasure not only for the fact that he’s [Ronaldo] a football star but also for the fact that I see the way he has to handle the brilliance of that star that he has forged in his career.
“The important thing in the team is to complement each other, they have already seen us together, and I think that beautiful and positive things have come out…Hopefully, we can continue to share moments on the pitch and give victories to the fans of our team, Manchester United.”

The duo could certainly cause fear amongst most defenders due to their impressive track records. Cavani’s hard work, coupled with Ronaldo’s instincts in the box, could be the solution to our recent struggles.
However, the 34-year-old recently picked up a tendon injury and has been ruled out of action. But whenever he does return, it is clear who he wants to lead the line with at Old Trafford and this is a partnership not many fans would be opposed to.
Besides the two, Anthony Elanga, Marcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood, and Anthony Martial are all players that can lead the line in the future, but for now, United don’t really have more provent strikers than these two.
