Gary Neville urges Manchester United to sign Tottenham Hotspur ace Harry Kane
According to The Daily Star, Manchester United legend, Gary Neville has urged the club to go all out and secure the signing of Tottenham Hotspur talisman Harry Kane this summer.
The English ace could be on the move this summer following yet another trophyless season at the lane. Currently in the prime of his career, there are few better strikers in world football than the 28-year-old.
Our cross-town rivals, Manchester City are keen on landing Kane but will need to fork out £160million for his services. It will comfortably break the British record that the Citizens broke earlier this summer to land Jack Grealish. There are few better players in world football who could replace Sergio Aguero at the Etihad.
“If Kane goes to City – forget Manchester United winning the league. Forget it.”
Neville is keen to see United beat City to the jugular and land Kane for themselves. He does not believe there is any reason we cannot compete with Pep Guardiola for the striker’s signature.
“I’d be going all-out to get Kane at Old Trafford. All-out. If City are going to buy Kane, why can’t we get Kane? We can compete.”
The Red Devils have enjoyed a successful summer of their own and have landed Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane. Both are world-class players who will add much to the United setup. Neville however does not believe it will be enough and is seeking a new centre-forward to be added to the roster.
“Kane is gold. Fact. Five years of absolute gold. It’s one player. It’s Harry Kane.”
If United are to react to Neville’s warnings, they have to get a move on quick.
United meanwhile looked to be in fine nick against Leeds United, winning the game 5-1. Bruno Fernandes and P[aul Pogba stole the limelight on the night, scoring three goals and making four assists respectively. With Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford, Raphael Varane and Edinson Cavani yet to return, the team could take some stopping.

Roy Keane also agreed with Neville’s declaration that United should be at the forefront of the queue to land Kane. The English skipper would certainly bolster what is already a strong attack that has good depth in reserve. While it remains to be seen if it will happen, one can dream.
