Manchester United eye summer switch for Rennes wonderkid Eduardo Camavinga

According to Daily Mail, Manchester United are readying a move for 18-year-old Rennes sensation Eduardo Camavinga.

One of the best young players in Europe, the French wonderkid has been earning rave reviews for his performances. Already a regular for Rennes, he has made 82 appearances, scoring twice and assisting five more for the Ligue 1 side. (h/t Transfermarkt)

United will however face competition for the player. The likes of Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid and Arsenal are all interested in his services.

With Jadon Sancho almost in the bag, United are now turning their attentions elsewhere. It would appear that Camavinga is the man. The youngster ability can be judged by the fact that he has already won three caps for a talented France squad who are the reigning World Champions.

Camavinga has just one year to go on his current deal and this has put United on alert. According to the report, Rennes are willing to cash in now rather than risk losing him on a free transfer.

United missed out on the sensational Jude Bellingham last summer. The youngster went on to enjoy an excellent season at Borussia Dortmund and even made the England squad for the Euros. The Red Devils believe Camnavinga is a much better talent and could be set to add him to their ranks this summer.

As seen last season, United tend to struggle in midfield in the absence of Paul Pogba. Nemanja Matic is past his prime and Fred is unreliable in certain aspects. Signing a talented teenager like Camavinga offers great long-term security in the middle of the park.

Camavinga’s agent, Josh Barnett, admitted earlier this year that the Frenchman could play in the Premier League next season. The prophecy will hopefully come true with him donning the famous red of the Red Devils.
