Real Madrid star Eduardo Camavinga, who has been linked with a move to Manchester United, is expected to sign a new contract with the Spanish giants.

The Red Devils have been associated with the France international’s signature. But it looks like the Old Trafford side will have to look elsewhere to bolster their middle of the park.

Speaking to Goal via transfer guru Fabrizio Romano on Twitter (h/t Mirror), the 20-year-old’s Jonathan Bartlett has expressed the player’s desire to remain with Los Blancos. To that end, the midfielder’s representative is optimistic about reaching an agreement with the La Liga outfit.

“He (Camavinga) wants to be at Real Madrid his entire life. There will be no problems with Madrid, we will sit down and I’m sure we will reach an agreement.”

Camavinga signed for Madrid in the summer of 2021 from Stade Rennais. Since then, the French national has been an essential player for Carlo Ancelotti’s team.

Los Blancos have an abundance of talent in the engine room with the likes of Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, Federico Valverde and Aurelien Tchouameni. However, the 20-year-old has managed to build a reputation of being a versatile player and an impact substitute.

In the current campaign, Camavinga has made 47 appearances in all competitions for the Spanish giants, providing one assist. The French national has been deployed at left-back on a few occasions by the La Liga outfit.

United signed Casemiro and Christian Eriksen last summer. The Brazilian has been pivotal since his arrival from Madrid, while the Denmark international has formed an impressive duo with the Brazilian in the engine room.

However, in their absence, the Red Devils have lacked a bit of quality in the midfield. The likes of Fred and Scott McTominay have been inconsistent at the club over the years.

Therefore, we could evidently do with more talent in depth at the Old Trafford side. However, it seems like Camavinga has his heart set on extending his stay in the Spanish capital.
