Spanish giants Real Madrid have ‘no intention’ of parting ways with Eduardo Camavinga amidst interest from Manchester United, according to The Athletic (Subscription Required) [h/t Metro].

Los Blancos are in talks to extend the midfielder’s current contract. A new deal would see the France international earn more and the La Liga outfit are also keen on adding a release clause of around £1 billion to secure his future.

The Old Trafford side were eyeing the 20-year-old in the summer of 2021. However, he preferred the Santiago Bernabeu side and signed for them instead from Stade Rennais.

United are once again looking to acquire Camavinga’s services. To that end, the Manchester-based club are willing to offer him regular game time and are ready to shatter their transfer record.

The French national has shone at Madrid. However, the competition for places in Carlo Ancelotti’s team has been immense. The Italian manager can call upon the likes of Luka Modric, Toni Kross, Federico Valverde and Aurelien Tchouameni in the middle of the park.

As a result, the 20-year-old has found it hard to get into the La Liga outfit’s starting lineup. In the current campaign, the midfielder has been played out of position as a left-back as well on a few occasions.

Camavinga has made 42 appearances in all competitions for Los Blancos this season in all competitions, providing one assist. However, the youngster has started in just 14 league matches.

United signed Casemiro and Christian Eriksen last summer. While the two have impressed many, other players on the bench, like Fred, Scott McTominay and Donny van de Beek, have been inconsistent over the years. Marcel Sabitzer was also brought on loan in January to add depth in the engine room.

Thus, the Red Devils seemingly need to add fresh blood in the middle of the park. However, it looks like Madrid are determined to fend off the Old Trafford side and keep a hold of Camavinga.
