Manchester United willing to listen to offers for Dean Henderson

According to Football Insider, Manchester United are open to offers for goalkeeper Dean Henderson in the summer transfer window.

The 24-year-old both impressed and disappointed in equal measure in what was his first full season in the first-team fold at the club. While he briefly displaced David de Gea from the starting lineup towards the end of the season, he could not hold onto it for the Europa League final.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is not keen on rotating his goalkeepers next season and is keen to make a decision this summer. If the report is to be believed, Henderson appears to have drawn the short end of the stick.

Does Henderson’s exit mean that De Gea will now reign supreme?

The report goes on to add that there is discontentment amongst the United coaching staff regarding Henderson’s attitude. He could very well be sold this summer if the right offer comes in. The English international signed a five-year extension with United only last August.

The Red Devils appear to be keen on revamping their goalkeeping department this summer. The likes of Sergio Romero, Joel Pereira and Jacob Carney have been released while Lee Grant’s future is also far from secure.

An inglorious exit?

United look set to sign Tom Heaton this summer and are also eyeing another backup goalkeeper. Whether this is dependant on Henderson leaving remains to be seen. All signs now point towards the club being ready to put their faith in David de Gea going into the 2021/22 campaign.

This new development should come as a shock for Henderson who is currently with the England squad at the Euros. The United ace recently expressed his confidence in making the grade at Old Trafford and in the upcoming campaign. What the future holds for him remains to be seen.
