Manchester United triple security at Carrington following fan protests

According to The Daily Mail, Manchester United have tripled the security outside Carrington amidst increasing fan unrest against the Glazers’ ownership of the club.

The club has also increased protective cover to their senior executives given the events of the past few days. Club authorities and players were stunned with the ease by which fans got into Carrington last week as they ramped up their protests.

While no untoward incident took place, it reflects poorly on the protection being levied to the players and the facility as a whole.

The security company used by the club, Controlled Solutions Group, now has thrice the personnel on duty at Carrington as before. They are also carrying out more stringent checks on staff and visitors around the facility.

The club’s senior officials while located in London, have been afforded the same cover. It would appear that we are unwilling to take any chances.

Protests against the club’s owners have amplified immeasurably since the fallout of the European Super League last week.

No let off!

Thousands of Red Devils fans gathered together to protest outside Old Trafford on Saturday. This was followed by an anti-Glazer banner being flown over Elland Road during our match against Leeds United on Sunday.

With protests being planned ahead of our game against Liverpool, the mood does not appear to be pacifying anytime soon. The club has also called for an emergency fans forum this Friday.

While we understand the club’s decision to improve security, it must be said that the fans who stormed Carrington had no ill intention towards any of the staff or players at the facility.

In fact, they held conversations with both Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Nemanja Matic before leaving the facility. Neither did they cause any material damage. Make no mistake about it, the fight is against the Glazers, not the club.
