Nemanja Matic opens up on the Manchester United fan protest at Carrington
According to MEN, Nemanja Matic has opened up on the Manchester United fan protests at Carrington. The midfielder believes it was a positive thing that Solskjaer went out to speak to the supporters and quell the issue from escalating any further.
It has been a tumultuous week for Manchester United. There was the club’s participation in the 12-team European Super League, which sparked a row of backlash from fans, pundits and even Sir Alex Ferguson. With protests from all corners, the English clubs including United withdrew from the ESL.
Ed Woodward resigned from his role in the midst of all that chaos. Joel Glazer had written an open apology after all the events.
However, a section of fans broke into the Carrington training ground on Thursday to protest and did not allow training to take place. Order was restored only when Solskjaer came out and talked to them.
Nemanja Matic opened up on the whole scenario as he was also among those alongside Solskjaer.
“They shared their opinions with us, of course we understand them and what I can say is that all the players that we are really focused on our job. I hope that what’s happened with this Super League is behind us and we can now focus on the Premier League and Europa League.”
