Manchester United loanee Jesse Lingard wins West Ham United goal of the month award for March
West Ham United’s official website has revealed that Manchester United loanee Jesse Lingard has won the club’s goal of the month for March.
The 28-year-old joined the Hammers on loan last January. Since then he has set the field on fire by producing a tally of six goals and four assists in just eight games.
This has not just seen his reputation skyrocket but also saw him return to the England setup – a thought that appeared impossible just three months ago.
Lingard’s wonder strike against Arsenal was voted by the club’s fans as the best of the lot for the month of March. It is the second time in a row that he has now won this award.
The United made it a habit of scoring against the Gunners while at Old Trafford. It would appear he has not lost that touch despite shifting alliegances.
Interestingly, it is not outside the scope that Lingard could swoop the award for April as well. The attacker made a solid case for himself when he scored another incredible goal earlier this month against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Lingard received the ball in his own half and quickly set off on a counter-attack, running directly at the Wolves defence. It culminated in an unstoppable strike past Rui Patricio that gave Hammers the lead.

Lingard looks a different beast at West Ham and is different from the clueless player who trudged along under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. It is only fair that he gets his rewards for proving his doubters wrong.
