Manchester United set to rekindle interest in Dejan Kulusevski
According to CalcioMercato journlaist Daniele Longo (h/t Sport Witness), Manchester United are interested in Juventus winger Dejan Kulusevski.
The 20-year-old came through the Swedish club IF Brommapojkarna before joining Atalanta in 2016. He impressed on loan at Parma in 2019/20 catching the attention of United for the first time.
Juventus however won the race to land him last summer in a deal worth a little over £30m. The move however has not paid off and he has scored just five goals in 34 appearances.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is set to rekindle United’s interest and is keeping tabs on the youngster’s progress in Turin. Capable of playing in a variety of attacking roles, the 20-year-old will give Untied more options.
Juventus meanwhile are not keen to sell the player. Still young, his best is yet to come and their stance is understandable.
While Kulusevski is an exciting prospect, he is far from a ready proposition. United have a number of young players coming through. We could do with focussing on bring in those who can perform from the get-go.
United’s attack has predominantly been focussed on both Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford. Both players lead the club’s goal and assist tally by a considerable margin. (h/t BBC)
This overdependence is something that we should look to address in the coming window. It will make us harder to predict and plan against while also giving Solskjaer more options.
