Bruno Fernandes returns to Manchester United training

As confirmed by the club’s official site, star midfielder Bruno Fernandes has returned to first-team training at the club’s AON training complex.

The Portuguese sensation picked up a yellow card in his country’s frustrating 2-2 draw with Serbia. It ruled him out of their 3-1 win over Luxembourg, handing him a much-needed rest.

With the international break now coming to a close, Fernandes has returned to Manchester to prepare for the weekend’s visit from Brighton and Hove Albion.

The 26-year-old is a nemesis for Brighton, having scored thrice against them in two appearances so far. He put away a contentious late penalty to win United all three points at the Amex earlier in the season.

With the Red Devils looking for a miracle in the title race, nothing less than a win will do at the weekend.

With both Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial nursing injuries, the onus will be on Fernandes to step up once again. The midfielder is the club’s top scorer and assists-getter this season. (h/t BBC)

Fernandes too took to Twitter and expressed his happiness at returning to United. The player has been our driving force all season and it would appear he will continue to do the same.

With just the Europa League to play for, more of his contributions may be needed in the coming weeks.

Brighton are a team that play good football and can cause us problems. They outplayed us in the return fixture and we were admittedly lucky to come away with anything, let alone three points.

Hopefully, we will turn up at the Theatre of Dreams and make easy work of the Seagulls.
