Team News: Man United wonderkid unlikely to make the squad for Everton clash

Manchester United have invested heavily in youth in recent years

Manchester United appear unlikely to field Amad Diallo against Everton

According to MEN, Amad Diallo is unlikely to make his first-team bow for Manchester United against Everton.

The 18-year-old was in contention to face off against the Toffees in Saturday’s Premier League fixture. However, with him set to represent the Under-23s on Friday, the prospect of him making Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad seems remote.

Diallo made his competitive debut for the United Under-23 side against Liverpool recently. He scored twice and proved there is more than a shred of truth in the hype surrounding his arrival.

The player’s representative made a post on social media that hinted at Diallo having to spend his immediate future in the reserves. Solskjaer earlier commented that he would make a decision on Diallo’s participation for the weekend by Thursday.

As things stand, it would appear he has just done that and Diallo will not be lacing up to face Carlo Ancelotti’s side.

The Ivorian wonderkid was United’s lone January capture and immediately went on to impress at Carrington. The youngster has been training with the United first-team and has shown flashes of his clinical finishing.

The 18-year-old was included in United’s Europa League squad. A number of youngsters made their debuts for the club in the tournament last season. Hopefully, Diallo too will get his opportunities this time around.

Having arrived at the club just recently, Diallo will be well served if he gets to acclimatise himself before being thrown in at the far end.

There will come a time in the near future where the youngster will be called up. It is up to him and the club to ensure he is ready to answer that call.
