“Tough playing against him” – Chelsea starlet names this Man United ace the toughest he has faced

Chelsea star names Manchester United ace Scott McTominay as his trickiest opponent faced

Speaking on Chelsea’s official Youtube channel, Blues starlet Billy Gilmour has come out in praise of Manchester United ace Scott McTominay.

Gilmour, similar to McTominay at United, is touted to play a key role in the Blues midfield for years to come. Both Scots, they could form an impressive pairing for the national side as well.

The Chelsea midfielder had no doubts that his countryman was the trickiest opponent he has faced so far in his career.

“It was against Manchester United, actually. It was Scott McTominay.”

“I know he’s fellow Scottish and all that but he was so good, quick, strong and technically good. So, I think it was tough playing against him.”

Having faced off against McTominay, Gilmour is well aware of the midfielder’s strengths. He admitted that the United star made life difficult for Chelsea by helping the Red Devils win the midfield battle.

“He played really good, He was stopping everything in midfield and controlling the game.”

McTominay has emerged as a key player for the club under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The 24-year-old has formed an effective partnership with Fred in the middle of the park.

The duo is Solskjaer’s preferred midfield shield for the big games and it is fair to say that neither player has disappointed so far.

McTominay was once again at it against Southampton at the weekend. He helped United dominate the proceedings and also got himself on the scoresheet.
