Paul Pogba urges Manchester United stars to celebrate in accordance with new coronavirus regulations

Speaking to Sky Sports (h/t MEN), Paul Pogba has urged his Manchester United teammates to keep their celebrations in line with the new Covid-19 regulations.

With coronavirus cases rising, players have been told to avoid hugging and celebrating goals. The new measures have been incorporated to help minimize the spread of the virus.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admitted he understands the decision while Pogba believes players can find other ways to show their joy.

“You find another way, you find another way to celebrate, to be happy.”

Pogba’s goal against Burnley drew wild celebrations at Turf Moor. The strike was the winner on the night and ensured United went top in January for the first time since 2013.

The Frenchman believes that the result takes precedence over the celebration. He understands that the rules have been put in for the greater good and need to be respected.

“The most important thing is the result. Obviously there are rules and we have to respect that for the safety of everyone.”

Solskjaer meanwhile admits that football has a way of bringing out the emotion in players. Coming ahead of the top of the table clash against Liverpool, the Norwegian’s words couldn’t be any truer.

“Football brings out the best and the worst in you.”

He promised that the players will do their best to keep within the regulations. After all as role models, they have to set an example for those watching on.

Pogba is right in asserting that the result is the most important outcome of a game. As long as we come away with three points, no fan or player should mind any muted celebrations.
