Team News: Anthony Martial in contention to feature for Manchester United against Liverpool

Team News: According to Daily Mail, Manchester United star Anthony Martial could be fit to face Liverpool at the weekend.

The Red Devils travel to Anfield to take on the defending champions in a top of the table clash on Sunday. It is a game that could make or break either side’s Premier League aspirations.

Martial limped off in our 1-0 win over Burnley midweek. United insiders believe the Frenchman could be declared fit to make the trip to Merseyside.

Thankfully, the injury is not as bad as first feared with Martial able to move freely after the game.

It is a good time for us to be facing Jurgen Klopp’s side. Key injuries have decimated their defence and their form is also suspect at this moment in time.

The signs are there for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to become the first Premier League manager to beat the Reds at Anfield in almost four years. However, we will have to be at our best and would need our top players to step up.

Despite his form this season, Martial is on his day a match-winner, and United may well need him at the weekend.

Not lacking options

Summer signing Edinson Cavani will be in line to start up front if Martial fails to make the cut. With Virgil van Dijk absent, Liverpool are vulnerable in the air. The Uruguayan is an aerial powerhouse and could feast on crosses if he starts.

A win will not only take us six points clear but also send a message loud and clear that we are truly the real deal.
