Marcus Rashford believes Manchester United are on the verge of winning trophies again

Speaking to the UTD Podcast (h/t Manchester United), Marcus Rashford revealed his conviction that Manchester United are close to adding to their trophy tally.

The Red Devils remain a formidable force on their day but have been hampered by inconsistency. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer led us to the semifinals of all three cup competitions last season and we can hopefully go one better this time around.

Rashford believes the club are getting there and need the final push to crown them in glory.

“I believe that the team that we have now is capable of winning big trophies.”

A major reason for Rashford’s statement appears to be the confidence that is surging through the team. He believes United can go head to head against the best teams and prevail.

“We have confidence on the pitch that we can beat them, whether it is Liverpool, City, PSG… against the big teams we show that we can go head-to-head and give them a game.”

Despite the criticism and a number of reversals this season, United can potentially go second in the Premier League if we win both of our games in hand. No team has looked faultless this season and we should attempt to capitalise on it.

Turning disappointment into motivation!

As befitting the star of a big club, Rashford has his eyes on the big prizes – the UEFA Champions League and the Premier League title.

While we may have been knocked out of the latter, the 23-year-old is keen to convert that pain into motivation.

“The fact that we have been knocked out of the Champions League [this season] obviously hurts. But we can’t change it now. It’s happened and the only way to respond is by winning games.”

Rashford is keen to bring back the winning habit at United. While we remain a work in progress, there is no doubt as to where we finally want to end up.

United’s last trophy came in 2017 when we won the UEFA Europa League. Whether Solskajer can help us break the three-year drought remains to be seen.
