Traore looked to be on his way to Parma with the Serie A side even announcing the transfer. However, a late pitch swung the deal in Manchester United’s direction.

The youngster is one of the best talents to come out of Atalanta and will join an array of young stars who have made their way to Old Trafford.

He would join the likes of Charlie McNeil, Alejandro Garnacho, Marc Jurado, Alvaro Fernandez, Isak Hansen-Aaroen, Joe Hugill, Logan Pye, and Radek Vitek have all joined the club this summer. (h/t MEN)

Traore is held in high regard by his teammates at Atalanta. Club captain Alejandro Darío Gómez went on to compare the youngster with footballing legend, Lionel Messi.

It is worth noting that at 17 years and 109 days old, he became the youngest player to score on his Serie A debut. He achieved this milestone last season when Atalanta thrashed Udinese 7-1.

While his first-team minutes have been limited, Traore has continued to impress for the Under-19 side. He played 24 games, in which he scored 8 goals and 11 assists. (h/t Daily Mail)

The deal for Traore is not a cheap one for someone of his age. The fact that United have gone through with it is an indication of his ability and potential.

While we may have faltered in strengthening our first-team, none can argue that the youth setup has not been suitably reinforced.
