According to MEN, Manchester United are keeping tabs on Atalanta wonderkid Amad Traore.

The 18-year-old has played just 30 minutes in the Serie A after making his first-team debut last season. He was also a part of the squad that played against PSG in the Champions League quarterfinals.

The Red Devils have already contacted the Italians regarding a potential move.

According to the report, the youngster is not seen as an alternative to Jadon Sancho. The Borussia Dortmund star is United’s top target of the summer but his mammoth £108m asking price remains a sticking point. (h/t Evening Standard)

Despite his limited playing time, Traore will not come cheap. In fact, he provided a window into his capabilities as a footballer against Udinese last season.

At 17 years and 109 days old, he became the youngest player to score on his Serie-A debut as Atalanta thrashed Udinese 7-1.

While his first-team minutes may be limited, Traore has been a regular for the Under-19 side. He played 24 games, in which he scored eight goals and 11 assists. (h/t Daily Mail)

If a deal can be agreed on, he will join a plethora of young talents who have made their way to Old Trafford.

Unlike the first-team, United have enjoyed a brilliant summer when it comes to youth recruitment.

While Traore is one for the future, United will also need to bring in players who can make an immediate impact.

Donny van de Beek remains our only senior signing of the summer. With around three weeks left in the summer window, we need to act fast.
