Twitter reacts as Paul Pogba tests positive for coronavirus
According to the BBC, France manager Didier Deschamps has revealed that Manchester United star Paul Pogba has tested positive for coronavirus.
The 27-year-old will now go into self-isolation and will miss the UEFA Nations League fixtures next month.
“I had to make a last-minute change to this list, because Paul Pogba was planned to be in this list but unfortunately for him, he took a test yesterday which turned out to be positive today.”
With United only beginning their Premier League campaign on 19th September, there is still hope of him making it in time.
France are scheduled to play Sweden on September 5 and Croatia on September 8. Rennes wonderkid Eduardo Camavinga has taken Pogba’s spot in the squad. (h/t Sky Sports)
The news comes on the back of eight Chelsea players forced to go into isolation due to the virus. Four of them had been in Mykonos, the same island Harry Maguire was arrested at. (h/t Telegraph)
With United set to resume training only on September 2, we are hopeful Pogba may not have come in contact with many of his United teammates.
The French superstar will hopefully make a quick and proper recovery. He will soon be working his magic on the pitch for all the right reasons. A number of United fans took to Twitter to react to this news. We take a look at a few of them below.
