Twitter was abuzz with fans who expected the Frenchman to reveal details about signing a new contract. Some others exercised caution claiming it was just a ploy to draw attention elsewhere.

The player, however, went on to clear the air when he confirmed that the tweet had nothing to do with football.

Pogba’s admission did not go down well with the fanbase, the majority of who were not amused by the Frenchman’s tactic. While we understand the disappointment some may have faced, the player has the right to post what he feels on his personal Twitter account.

Moreover, once an agreement is in place, it is highly unlikely that the player would beat the club in making it official.

Ultimately Pogba’s big reveal turned out to be a signing after all. The Frenchman announced that he has signed for Call of Duty esports team Verdansk Sparks.

For now, the excitement generated by Pogba’s tweet came to an anticlimatic end. Hopefully, we will see him sign a contract soon, much to the joy of the supporters.
