According to the club’s official site, Manchester United veteran Nemanja Matic has signed a new deal with the club.

The Serbian’s new deal will see him remain at the club until 2023. Matic joined United in 2017 and has made 114 appearances for the club.

Matic endured a tough start to the season. A loss of fitness and form hampered his ability to make a positive impact on the squad.

However, he managed to successfully turn his form around and is now a key member of our rejuvenated team. His new deal has been richly earned and completely based on merit.

The player believes he still has much to offer and is keen to play a part in our resurgence.

“As a player, I still have a lot more to give and achieve in my career and to do that with Manchester United will be a huge honour.”

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer too extolled the Serbian’s virtues and asserted that he knows what it is like to don the Red shirt. As someone who has done the same with distinction, the Norwegian knows what he is talking about.

“He remains hugely ambitious and determined which will be vital as we look to achieve our aims over the coming years.”

A number of fans took to Twitter to respond to the development. We take a look at a few of them below.
