Paul Pogba expects contract negotiations to start once current season comes to an end
According to Dharmesh Sheth of Sky Sports, Manchester United superstar Paul Pogba expects contract negotiations to begin at the end of the current campaign.
The Frenchman is said to be happy at the club and is keen on renewing his current deal. Although his contract expires next summer, United have an option to extend it for another year.
With the club currently busy negotiating their Europa League campaign, any negotiations off the field will have to wait.
Pogba’s stance is starkly different from the voices coming out of his camp earlier this season. The arrival of Bruno Fernades has brought in a feeling of optimism around the club that has extended to the Frenchman.
The duo have formed a formidable partnership and have looked to enjoy their time on the pitch. The news is in line with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s assertions regarding the Frenchman’s future.
The Norwegian went on to praise Pogba’s work ethic in training and his application on the field. He is confident that United are yet to witness the best of the prodigious midfielder.
Pogba returned to United in 2016 for a club-record fee of £89million. He enjoyed a promising debut campaign but has looked a shadow of his best since.
His form picked up following the restart and he has enjoyed a new lease of life at United. He now looks more like the player who United decided to shell out on four years ago.

Sheth also went on to add that Solskjaer is keen to keep Jesse Lingard at the club. The Englishman’s future was called into question after a number of disappointing outings.
However, there will be no assurances regarding game time. The 27-year-old has found appearances hard to come by of late. The trend could be set to continue, provided he stays at the club.
Although there is no doubting his passion for the club, he will have to satisfy himself with a squad role.
