Paul Pogba could extend his stay at Manchester United.

According to the Mirror, Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskajer has dropped a hint regarding the future of Paul Pogba at the club.

The Norwegian believes that the 27-year-old is set to play a key role as a positive influence on a young United team for years to come.

United are set to being talks with Pogba regarding a new day in the coming weeks. This should hopefully end any speculation linking him with a move to Real Madrid.

“I’m looking forward to seeing him grow with this team.”

The French superstar endured a tough start to the season as he struggled with both form and injuries. Speculation regarding his future refused to die down given the antics of his agent Mino Raiola.

But the arrival of Bruno Fernandes in January proved to be the catalyst to a number of positive changes at the club. One of them was the upturn in form of Pogba. The duo has come together to form an impressive partnership in midfield as United go from strength to strength.

Solskjaer also praised Pogba’s work ethic in training and his application on the field. The Norwegian has no doubt that the player’s best is yet to come.

A new lease of life

Pogba’s contract at the club expires next summer. United however retains the option to extend it for another year.

Solskjaer is keen to work alongside Pogba and watch the Frenchman grow. The Frenchman has shown since the restart what the fuss is all about as he put in a number of brilliant displays.

“He will have to be one of the leaders, one of the main figures, because he is just coming to his peak time as a footballer at 27.”

Pogba returned to United in 2016 for a club-record fee of £89million. he enjoyed a promising debut campaign before falling out with then-manager Jose Mourinho.

The 27-year-old has since then only shown off his prodigious skill on a handful of occasions. With him now looking more settled, there is yet hope that he can fulfil his potential at Old Trafford.
